The Staff Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting activities related to corporate and development projects. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions but not limited to: issue checks, maintenance vendor files, assist with vendor inquires, annual 1099 processing, A/R analysis and collection
- Ensures that adequate internal controls are communicated and adhered to in all payable processes.
- Reviews, analyzes, modifies, and implements efficient and effective accounts payable processes, policies, and procedures.
- Perform cash management functions including but not limited to: monitor and record cash transactions and reconcile bank accounts.
- Preparation of adjusting and closing journal entries to support the month end close including the preparation of financial statements.
- Perform intercompany accounting, balance account reconciliation and monthly accruals.
- Assist with the preparation for the annual audit including schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
- Provide support on special projects as needed.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field
- 2+ years of public or corporate accounting experience
- CPA preferred but not required.
